In medieval Europe, mead was believed to be blessed with children, and it was customary for newlyweds to drink honey on the night of the full moon to encourage child-bearing. This is the etymology of "honeymoon" and there is also a history that it was used as a wedding gift as an auspicious liquor.

Natural water source rich in minerals
